Sian NaftalCounselling & Psychotherapy

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

I charge £65-70 for a 50 minute session. Payment can be made either via bank transfer or cash after each session.

What happens in the first instance?

Firstly we will have a chat on the phone to ensure that I am able to help. If this is the case I will offer an initial assessment consultation. If not I will recommend someone who is more qualified to help. My first priority is your safety and so I will always ensure that I am not working outside of the limits of ability.

What happens in an assessment?

I will ask you to go through your reasons for wanting therapy, what (if any) previous therapy you have had and what your expectations are. I will also talk through any medical issues that you might have, any medications you are on and how your life is generally. Everything that is discussed will be confidential unless you talk about breaking the law or inflicting serious harm to yourself, however if I need to break confidentiality I will always discuss this with you first.
After the session I will give you the opportunity to decide whether you feel we are able work together and I will do the same. Counselling is always a two way process.

How many sessions will I need?

This is entirely up to you. We will have regular reviews to see how things are going. All I ask is that if you decide to finish therapy we have an ending session together. I find this is beneficial to both therapist and client.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

I understand that situations arise that are out of our control, however I do ask for 24 hours notice if you need to cancel, otherwise the full fee will be payable.
